Franck Steinberg, Captain / Engineer on sailing yachts in the 20m range
Dear all !
As partners in diving and in sailing for over 14 years, we have worked together in the Red sea, the Caribbeans and the Indian ocean, the Mediterranean sea and the Atlantic ocean.
We are naturally inclined to explore remote places, where we acquired good hands-on skills and efficiency in managing large yachts or organising long voyages.
Originally an offshore fish-farming Engineer, I worked 12 years in the diving charter industry, before switching progressively to sailing, and have been working on superyachts since 2009, as Engineer and First mate, and as Captain/Engineer since 2012.
My last positions as a Captain/Engineer allowed me to manage luxury sailing boats from 20 to 43 meters in length, in various areas including the Mediterranean, the Atlantic and the Caribbean, the Pacific and the Baltic sea.
During operation, or on refit projects, I have gathered some strong maintenance and repairs skills in various areas, from lamination to hydraulics, fridges and air-conditioning systems to power management, etc...
My blue water experience as Captain includes 5 Atlantic crossings ( one was single-handed ), one Pacific crossing, a few Mediterranean crossings ( East to West and back ), and some long passages in the South Indian ocean.
I am of course open to any proposition, but would primarily look for a permanent position on a travelling or 'expedition' yacht in the 60-100 Ft range.
Currently in Europe, available immediately, I am ready to travel to any destination.

Franck is perfect as captain!
As crew on a 72 ft S/V, I did experiment Captai Franck during 6 weeks: preparing the boat, crossing the Pacific to Tahiti, then preparing again to NZ. I had a very good experience, for Security, for planning crew-job and watches, for engineering, for supply, he's very good. And he cooks! very good food. He knows how to maintain light and good atmosphere in the team, to balance relax and work. Thank you Franck! Emma
