My partner and I are looking for a crew couple position (Captain and a Chef)
My name is Martin and my partner's name is Tamara. We are looking for work as a captain and chef couple on a sailing catamarans around 60ft to 70ft.
I wasn't able to attach Tamara's CV with food photos and menu here, but I am happy to send it later on.
I also just wanted to write a bit about us as a couple. We are currently working our second season at the Moorings in the BVI and running a Leopard 50ft sailing catamaran, although through the seasons we have covered charters on 58ft sailing catamaran and 53 power. Our ideal job would be on a sailing catamaran which is chartering in some beautiful destinations, hopefully, multiple countries. If it exists something a bit more 'explorer' would be our dream. We really enjoy working with 6-8 guests and with our team of just the two of us, however if there was something which matched us really well and is a bit bigger or with more crew we would be open to it.
We met in Croatia in 2018 when Martin was a captain, and Tamara was on a sailing trip. Martin is from Slovakia and Tamara from Australia (with a Polish passport). Martin has worked as a chef and captain throughout his sailing career. Tamara as a nanny and a chef. Prior to joining the yachting world Martin worked as a Chef in high class restaurants throughout Europe and Tamara worked as an Occupational Therapist in Australia and the UK. We have spent most of our sailing life in the Mediterranean but after venturing to the Caribbean and BVI we are keen to keep exploring amazing places! We absolutely love sailing, living and working on yachts and running the yacht to provide guests with amazing yacht holidays. We genuinely care and respect yachts and will work hard to maintain them so they are looking and sailing beautifully. We are easy going, adventurous, active people but we also have a high standard of the service we provide.
We are both qualified with PADI dive certificates, Martin with rescue diver and Tamara open water. We love to dive and Martin is planning to do his Dive Master this August.
For timing we would like to see out this season with the Moorings, in August we are looking to spend time in the UK updating licences and attending courses to expand our skills in both cheffing and sailing.
However we can be flexible with any start dates, should you think we are a good match.
