In Tobago, looking to sail to Dominica
My name is Niklas. I’m a 29 years old dane and just recently finished my studies in IT-Electronics. Long story short I set out into the world to find places in development where I can make myself useful, rather than sitting behind a desk in Copenhagen building some meaningless product or app.
Right now my goal is to make my way to Dominica, and of course trying to meet interesting people and catch as many experiences as possible along the way. The reason why I want to go to Dominica is because I found this permaculture farm where I can stay to learn about this kind of farming, while they also do other interesting projects to make their way of life more sustainable. When I go back to Denmark or settle some place else I would like to live more simple, self-suficient and sustainable. Ultimately I want to make my way to Panama and travel the countries around, Columbia, Costa Rica and Nicaragua.
My sailing experience is somewhat limited but I did do some yatch racing in Australia in the Hervey Bay a few years back, and now recently I’ve been crew member on the sailing boat Queen Bee with my friend is who is captain. We started in Trinidad to Grenada, to Carriacou, to Union, to Mayreau and then all the way back to Tobago where I wanted to spend Christmas and New Years with my friend. So I have no certificates, but I know my way around a boat and really want to get some more experience and miles!
I can contribute with practical work, and I am also quite technical and of course I have a broad knowledge of IT and computers in any form. So if you need to fix something, do painting, have a problem with your phone or computer. Need media as in photography or video for whatever reason I can also help you with that. And I will bring my music playlists.
Personally I am an quite outgoing guy, I like to meet new people because I think people are key to having a good time. I would much rather do something tedious and boring with fun people than doing something exciting with boring people. I have a great passion about surfing, which is also what takes me around the world.
