Easy-going multilingual woman available as an unpaid crew member!
I am an enthusiastic, sportive, flexible, positive and easygoing woman who works as a management consultant / coach / facilitator for about 8 months a year. During the 4 other months of the year, I used to travel, but I would like to work now as a crew member on sailing yachts to improve my sailing experience and skills.
I owned an events business for 15 years and I am still involved in organizing corporate events. So you can count on my organizing skills. I have traveled extensively, all over the world, for the last 30 years. I started sailing in 2000 and organized and managed sailing regattas for companies for several seasons (mainly Italy and Greece). I obtained my RYA Day Skipper (theory + practical) and VHF license and I feel pretty confident sailing a boat in a safe way. I am now studying my theory for RYA YachtMaster.
I would love to spend the summer working with interesting people, whether these are owners, guests or other crew. I speak English, Dutch, French and German fluently and I love to learn new languages and cultures. I am also available for about 1 month around Christmas (from 16Dec21 till 21Jan22) and yet another month around April. Anybody interested in getting my help on a longer (Transatlantic) passage?
Night watches, helming, cooking and cleaning, organizing trips ... I am flexible. Becoming a live-aboard is on my bucket list for the near future, so any experience on boats is a good experience. As I have seen already so many places in the world, I now want to see the world at the rhythm of the wind.
As borders are opening up again, traveling within Europe shouldn't be a problem anymore, outside Europe might still be more challenging, but I am confident this will become possible soon too.
