Looking for a Novice Crew, Friendship, diesel mechanic all round carpenter wanting to learn to sail
Hi - I've just joined Crewbay. I'm interested in finding a position as a Novice Crew, Friendship, Marine mechanic or Welder. I'm looking forward to meeting some new people! I am 55 young, looking to spend my later yrs seeing the world, lost everything , but got up put my boots on took a inventory of my life got on a plane with a backpack got a job in Hawaii as a maintenance mechanic at a Hospital working on their Boilers and Chillers. As I stated falling back on my knowledge and life skills my knowledge and experience in mechanical, fiberglass, woodworking , plumbing wiring skills, was a pipefitter by trade diesel mechanic small engine.
Spent early 80,s on fishing boats as a mechanic. Fell in love with the sea , life kicked in put on back burner. Now in life just surviving, alone an longing to pursue my young dream learning to sail and see the world I have not family or attachments to stop me accept only thing holding me back is lack of experience on a sail boat I definitely be a newbie it's not that I have not had the pleasure of being on one I was just not part of the crew or opportunity to learn . Or a bank roll to buy a boat of my own to learn. So here I am looking for someone out here that would give me the opportunity to earn my keep through my skills in return teaching me to sail and meet new family and friends, fulfilling my life long dream.
As I look on here most are looking for young, good-looking or experience.
I understand that, I am not looking for a free ride just an opportunity .
I have a great work ethic , I have worked long hrs grave yard. For years. I have been here in Hawaii for almost 2yrs. Working and investing and saving literally to be able to make this next step . I started out as a cowboy, College grad, owner an designer of manufacturing co. owned a trucking co. Rancher, union plumber pipefitter, just a all round entrepreneur. Don't see problems just figure out solutions.
All I have ever known is hard work. Just want to meet new people and enjoy life while still able .

Update, as of 12/29/20 moved back state side , in Texas looking for a boat full time. Paid / unpaid either one looking for my next adventure.
