Looking to do some sailing around the Mediterranean with my partner
Hi,
After first reading 'A voyage for madmen' my obsession with the idea of setting out to sea had begun. I soon realized that this life is no joke and If I'm serious about it, I need to get a lot of sailing experience before I buy my own boat, so this among many other reasons is why I'm looking to join a crew.
Between 2018 and 2020 I had been travelling and working around Australia and New Zealand. I went back to Wales during the lockdown to be with family but soon became sick of my job and decided to learn dinghy sailing. I bought a laser pico and started converting a small van so I could travel around Europe and sail the coasts and lakes in the Mediterranean. After a great summer of sailing and adventure I fell in love with a girl from Munich and I now live there. So this year we both want to get stuck in some sailing and hopefully make some friends and great memories on the way!
I have minimal big sailing boat experience but I would say I have gained many fundamental skills from sailing dinghy's. I am a technical person who loves problem solving and working with his hands so I believe I could be quite useful around the boat. I have mainly worked in construction, farming and other technical jobs so I am no stranger to hard work. My partner is a nurse and social work student who loves travel and adventure.
Please let me know if you have any other questions about us and our situation!
Thanks!
