Young couple looking for sailing and life experience
The summary: we're looking for memories, boats willing to take on novice crew, and likeminded souls.
Zion and I both have the ocean in our blood. I grew up in the Caribbean, and Zion is a big wave surfer. But we've also come from sailing families My dad was a commercial sailor in the Caribbean during my childhood, and Zion's dad has been building a 20m Schooner for years. We've grown up sailing as kids and have some recent day trip experiences, but we're eager to improve and eventually run our own catamaran.
Zion's uncle, a superyacht captain, suggested we explore the catamaran delivery / touring opportunities. While we may lack experience, we make up for it with dedication, a proactive approach, and a strong work ethic. We're no strangers to hard work and long hours, having worked in various demanding industries (2am starts on a dairy farm, 20hours on a motorbike mustering in the outback, 16hr shifts in the film industry, navigating dangerous situations whilst guiding seal snorkelling tours).
Above all, we're thrilled about immersing ourselves in the ocean—the place we love the most. We bring resourcefulness, attentiveness, scuba diving experience, a great love of surfing, general ocean / wind /navigation knowledge, and a knack for travel. We're open to actively contributing on board, exploring remote islands, and offering our skills and positive energy.
Whether you need a someone to climb a rig, fix a leak, get our hands on the engine, do a supply run, spear fish, repair a sail tear, or just someone to share the journey with and exchange life stories along the way, we're up for it all. We're ready to start immediately and can commit for 1-6 months.
We're more than willing to obtain our STCW and seafarers medical if needed, but if an immediate start is on the cards, we're good to go.
