Yachtmaster Offshore Couple Looking for a Team Position
Hello!
We are Rebecca and Heiko, a stable and professional couple looking for a team position as Captain and First Mate / Stew / Chef.
We recently obtained our Yachtmaster Offshore Sail qualifications together in Gibraltar with Allabroad Sailing Academy through their Fast Track to Yachtmaster program, where we lived and trained for 15 weeks on a Jeanneau 389. We are both commercially endorsed and have over 2500nm.
Rebecca, age 40, is from the USA but has been living all around the world for the last 17 years. She has been working as a scuba diving instructor, dive center manager, resort manager and liveaboard assistant cruise director since 2009 in Thailand, Hawaii and Indonesia. Prior to that, she worked in the investment banking industry as well as the bar / restaurant industry in New York and Hong Kong.
Heiko, age 36, is from Germany. He has been working as a freediving instructor, spearfishing guide, yoga instructor and base leader since 2016 in Thailand, Indonesia and Tanzania. Prior to that, he worked in IT Management in Germany.
We have always been passionate about providing a highly professional level of service and the most memorable experiences for our students and guests and are committed to doing the same in a charter environment. Our love for the ocean, travel, exploration and discovery is what brought us into the diving industry, and it has now brought us into the yachting industry. We are eager to embrace new challenges and believe our combined skill sets from our former careers in the corporate world as well as our more recent careers in diving will translate well into the yachting industry.
Coming from a diving background, both of us are very safety conscious with a high level of situational awareness and the ability to multitask. We both worked in relatively smaller operations where we took on responsibilities above and beyond our job description. We are both very hands on, fast learners and take direction well. Our previous positions in the dive industry were all customer facing positions which involved spending a great deal of time with a very international clientele, keeping them safe and happy, utilizing our various languages as needed. We both very much enjoyed this aspect of the dive industry and look forward to the opportunity to provide top-notch hospitality on a yacht.
Our aim is to find a couples position, but we are also open to working on different yachts in order to gain experience. Ideally, we are looking for a team position as Captain and First Mate / Stew / Chef where both of us would be capable of taking on either role. We are both passionate amateur cooks with experience cooking for groups. Our style is primarily Mediterranean, healthy and flavorful, and we are able to cater for a variety of dietary requirements.
At the moment, we are in Spain but are ready and willing to travel.
