Madeira to Portugal
Martn, was wonderful to have on board with us for a 5-day passage from Maderia to South Portugal, plus the 2 days before helping us with last-minute boat jobs. The crew learnt so much from Martn, especially me. Your experience and kind, calm way of explaining things made us both feel very safe and in good hands yet we also felt empowered to perform skippering/decision-making. Another very welcome aspect that I must mention is how well you helped us with the soft skills, keeping crew motivated and working happily together. This is not at all easy, especially when individuals feel they have more experience themselves in something than the skipper/first mate. We are most grateful to you for all of these things, but most of all, because you allowed us to begin to relax and enjoy the experience. This is what it is all about after all.
