Experienced Mate / Deckhand working towards Captain/Yachtmaster ticket
I am interested in vessels that are willing to share knowledge / teach new skills - I knew nothing when I started sailing almost 3 years ago and am continuing to learn. I've now clocked 15290+ nautical miles in the Caribbean, US East Coast, Mediterranean, Pacific, and Atlantic.
I've been crew for 16 sailing yacht deliveries (40- 65ft Cats / Monohulls/Trimarans) and have spent 217+ nights in navigation. I have recently worked as racing first mate on a Farr 65 in the Caribbean, crossed the Atlantic (East to West) on a Privilege Series 6 as First Mate, lived/worked onboard a 51ft NEEL trimaran as crew/support for a family (2kids) for 3 months, and lived on a 39ft Ovni monohull in French Polynesia.
I'm comfortable with holding solo night watches, know my necessary knots, and want to gain more experience in sail trimming/maneuvers and all boat systems/maintenance as I work towards my Yachtmaster Offshore. I would REALLY love to cross the Panama Canal and/or the Pacific in the near future or participate in a circumnavigation, but am open to any and all new experiences!
