Hello,
Looking for voluntary sailing position, competent crew, watch leader, helping hand, inshore, offshore, ocean passage, delivery crew.
I want to sail to gain sea time and sail on different yachts types for experience.
My ambition is eventually to purchase my own yacht, but which type ?
I am fit, strong, very willing to help and be involved with routine maintenance and preparing the yacht for longer passage.
I am very practical and my skills are carpentery, sticking sails, maintenance of basic machinery, winches, blocks ecc., happy to mast climb, computer operation, rope work.
I have worked in buildings projects in design and practically in Switzerland, so consequently versatile and practical. Also team consideration is a skill i have required.
I can and will cook in all sea condition basic foods and drinks.
I have sailed 2 ocean passages this year, the first from the Canary island to Azores, the second front Azores to Portugal as watch leader, and did many coastal passages. For 3 month with a retired RYA ocean instructor.
I have also sailed in the Mediteran and the Canary islands on week long holidays with friends, and also sailed in the lake's in Switzerland.
I am also a quite person and like my own company and very keen to learn new skills. I am not looking to be learned but learn new skills.
Strong winds and rain doesn't bother me, i just don't go looking for it.
