Looking for a Novice Crew or Deckhand position
Hello, My name is Jaap, I'm looking for a boat to sail to the Caribbean. This summer I sailed with friends on their 50 ft. ketch from Harlingen, the Netherlands to O Vicedo, Spain, (including a Gulf of Biscay crossing). Incredible experience! It was my first real seagoing trip. After that I sailed on another vessel (Jeanneau 36i) from Menorca to Torrevieja, Spain. In November I sailed as crew on a Najad 39, from Oeiras, Portugal to Las Palmas, Canary Islands. In total I spent 7 weeks of sailing at sea including 15 nights at sea. Currently based in Las Palmas, I'm really eager to go further and to make the Atlantic crossing, preferably as a third or fourth crewmember. Sailing around the Canary Islands in the meantime would also be a lot of fun. I'm a dutch economics teacher, taking one year off to focus on sailing and a university graduate in Economics, fluent in English, German and Dutch (mother tongue) and speak Spanish quite good. I have a hands on mentality, I am a teamworker and very motivated to be an active crew member again on a Blue water sailing boat.
So is there anyone out there who can help me out??
