Yachtmaster Offshore. Exploring Australia! Especially Whitsundays?
Ahoy!
I love sailing and want to make a career of it. I passed my Yachtmaster offshore exam in 2022, crossed the Atlantic, worked as a skipper for the Yacht Week in Croatia and as a deckie in the Whitsundays. If you're looking for a competent, friendly, laid back crew member who loves to cook, you may have found a match. I have 10,000+ sea miles under my belt.
About me:
I love to travel, explore new places and meet new people, that is when I feel most alive. I worked as a whitewater rafting guide for 7 years in the Grand Canyon and other parts of the Colorado River, and have various experiences in other outdoor sports - scuba diving, surfing, climbing, kayaking, canyoning, mountain biking and more. These experiences have taught me how to work well with others (as part of a team and in a leadership role), keep cool in an emergency and be patient with other people's eccentricities!
I love a good chat, swapping stories and sharing adventures. I'm also an avid reader and quite content to spend my downtime with my nose in a book. Finally, I relish the challenge of cooking at sea and have yet to experience sea sickness (touch wood!).
My plan:
Sail, sail, sail! I have a working holiday visa for Australia internet to start here until May, sailing, diving & surfing. I'm open to anything though, if it's a good fit!
