Adventure over Vacation
Hi, my name is LeAnne! I am currently working in Madagascar and am looking for future adventures in 2026! I have minimal experience with sailing but I learned some navigation and basic sailing skills while I was in college. In September 2023, I worked as a live- aboard deckhand on a schooner for about 6 weeks in Camden, Maine (US).
While I was in the military, I spent six weeks at sea on a Navy ship and I've done three transits in the Indian Ocean from South Africa to Madagascar with the organization I'm currently working with, Mercy Ships. While that is not sailing by any means, I only mention this to highlight that I am comfortable in tight quarters and can easily adapt to a life away from land. If you're looking for someone that is willing to work hard, can multitask, and is open to learning new things; I would be a good fit for your team.
I love adventure! If the trip includes any locations where I could surf or hike, that would be a huge plus, but I love doing anything that involves the outdoors.
Lastly, I love meeting new people and making friends! (But I am not looking to be anyone's temporary girlfriend ;) ) Ideally, I'm looking to be part of a crew of 3-5 people, but I'll definitely consider other options.
