1st Mate/Stewardess
Hello, sailors!
I’m Veronika, 33, freelance journalist, married with no kids, currently based in Italy.
What am I doing here?
So, as you might guess, I would like to get a job, to gain new skills and to make friends as well!
It just so happened that I grew up on the White Sea and can't do anything with craving for water. Canoe, fishing, snorkelling… I even worked in a dolphinarium, but that's another story. So, where we are? Yep, I’m really into yachting! I have been sailing (not as a pro) for over 10 years: an ISSA Inshore Skipper license, several Mediterranean charters and some racing experience in Russia and Europe (no thanks, lol).
What are my strengths?
Neatness, reliable, easy-going, unpretentious, empathy and patience. I always try to understand what I'm dealing with. Certain life experience helps me to correctly assess the situation and solve the problem. And last but not least, commitment to play by the rules if they are clear and followed by all participants.
* There are plenty of shortcomings ofc. For example, I still use no more than 3 types of knots.
What exactly can I suggest?
My main goal for this season is to practice as much as possible, cause I finally decided to turn my hobby into a profession. Thus, I can perform routine physical work on board, combining the duties of a deck and a stew. I’m willing to present additional documents if necessary. Any questions are welcome!
Fair winds to all!
