Looking for a Novice Crew position
Hi! My name is Eric and I am a 25 years old Canadian who recently got into sailing.
I've sailed a lot in the Mediterranean, but also done an atlantic voyage from Gibraltar to the canaries. Overall, I have over 1000 nm and many hours of night watches.
Of course, I have so much to learn and I'm so excited to do so!
Aside from this, I'm easygoing but hard working, don't complain, friendly and really looking to have a good time. Hope to meet you soon!
A great sailor and superb personality (but in need for a Shibari course lol)
Eric was part of my one month trip from the Netherlands via Fair Isle and the Shetlands to southwest Norway. I was fortunate to be in a team with him for 1 week including the 4 day North sea crossing (until one lady decided to claim him for herself…). Eric is a great guy and a good sailor, steady at the wheel, much needed after our autopilot gave up. He has a good sense of humour and excelled in a group of left wing nose pierced Gen-Z losers. The only thing he can improve himself is in dealing with mooring lines and knots. I suggested a Shibari course as a possible cure. He even managed to skipper one leg of our trip on kind of dangerous Norwegian waters, what he did really great. He has some other amazing skills like managing to get slightly intoxicated on board when we were moored at a 6 meter high quay in Manchester with long ropes to manage the tides, completely unnoticed by me who always hears everything… He takes his fair portion of dishwashing and cleaning without asking and can get along very well in a super divergent crew of different nationalities and religions. I can highly recommend Eric in your next trip, but ask for his A+ Shibari certificate before you let him moor under difficult conditions. He is also great in writing reviews, I was very impressed when I read mine…. Thanks for a great experience Eric and hopefully we will meet again for some crazy trip soon.
