Do not trust this person

Flew to the other side of the continent during a global pandemic to find out I was lied to by "John" All the photos online are old and not at all what his boat nor him currently look like. He lies in his profile and has more than one on different sites, each one slightly different from the next. I spent over a thousand dollars prepping for some long term leisurely sailing opportunity just to step onboard to some run down boat full of clutter. In comparison to other boats in the marina, there is a huge difference between his and other boaters. Spent the whole night smoking weed for pain which I would have been fine with if it was also disclosed to me prior. The site has it listed that he doesn't smoke, another lie. He doesn't seem physically able to sail due to physical injuries which he never once disclosed to me. I could only imagine the nightmare if something happened with him out at sea. He asked me to bring him a few items which I did and when I told him I was leaving after one night (never ate his food) he had the audacity to ask for a tip. This guy is a liar and a fraud. Do not trust him. I left the boat after spending one night but I knew within moments of seeing him and stepping below deck that I made a huge mistake.

1 month in San Carlos

I've spend one month on Bettie with John, in San Carlos, Mexico. That was really a great time. John is probably is easiest person to live with. He is really convenient and always try to make you feel as comfortable as you would be at home. I am really novice with sailing boats and John took time to teach me a lot in the best way. The thing which makes him a good teacher and the best captain to stay with is that John will never get bored, upset or angry about the mistake you can do. He is always really calm and if you did something wrong he will explain it to you without never getting arrogant. He is also always really calm even when everything turn bad which makes you always feel confident on the boat. I would really like to come back later for a part of his world tour trip. Victor
