We, Ben and Ari, are an enthusiastic couple (50+) with a broad world-vision. Based in Hawaii, our lives revolve around the Pacific Islands, and we are very aware of the impact that our 'civilized world' has on the more remote islands around us. We live our lives consciously and keep an active and healthy life style.
We sailed from Fiji to Tuvalu to assist in setting up CORAL nurseries and other sustainable Industries which will help the islands standard of health and independence from relying on Fish for protein since we will be creating some new fishing zones to bring back the health of those reefs.

We are working with an amazing scientist who is already set up with the governments and the community there.

Ben is a mechanical engineer from the Netherlands who has a passion for sailing. He is a 500 Ton Master and has been working on a sailing cargo vessel, that serves remote islands in the Kiribati and the Cook Islands. Through his work, Ben acquired a lot of friends on the most remote islands in the Pacific Ocean. Many of these friends asked his help in starting small businesses, but Ben's time was always limited because of the tight time schedule of the cargo vessel.

Ari is a professional artist with a practical interest in agriculture and ecology. She has been based in Hawaii since 1982, after spending her youth in the Bahamas, and receiving her artistic education across the US. A decade ago she laid the foundations for the Sea Stewardship concept.

  • Boat descriptionOur beautiful wooden ketch had recently been overhauled. Although a full fledged yacht, the Rosalie Clare is a charismatic gypsy ship, a little rough around the edges, but still very functional , comfortable and clean. We produce our own fresh water and run on solar and wind energy. So we are basically self sufficient, which requires the crew to adjust their lifestyle accordingly. We can offer you a private cabin and all the safety equipment needed on board of an ocean going vessel.
