Azores Sept 2020
I had my first ocean sailing on board of Mylady for 3.5 weeks sept/oct 2020. This was a great learning experience for me. We did 290 miles circumnavigating the Azores with some smooth sails and some rougher ones. There were hurricanes all around! This was a great opportunity for me to learn the ropes with the help of skipper Eelco who has been sailing his entire life and for whom sailing is a passion and a way of life. Someone with a strong character but also very patient, knowledgeable and friendly. I got to participate and share all boat activities both in the sailing and in the day to day of living on a boat. This is exactly what I was looking for, the experience of living a sailing life, and that's what I got. A very interesting ship Mylady where everything has been customised by its skipper and every little piece of it has a story. Be sure Eelco will tell you all these stories! The skipper Eelco has for sure his own way to do things, some you may or may not agree with, and this is for sure part of the experience! Overall I felt safe, I learned a lot, and had an amazing time and experience, having a taste of what it is "living the dream".
