Recently returning from cruising the Sea of Cortez Several new upgrades have been added since 2014; New Yanmar turbocharged 4 cylinder engine, new Shaffer roller furler, new 140 amp DC Generator, new solar panels, replaced traveler and staysail, these are to just mention a few. The Fraser 51 was designed & built as a no-nonsense, ocean passage making, performance cruising cutter, constructed and fitted out to very high standards. Systems, equipment & cosmetic appearance have been brought up to date. Acknowledged on world-famous blue water sailor/instructor John Neal's list of "preferred" ocean cruising yachts. ELECTRONICS AND NAVIGATIONAL EQUIPMENT • Raymarine ST60+ boat instruments including DS, KM & Wind displays mounted in the cockpit. • 5" Aquameter Galaxy compass at binnacle w/ red night light. • New (2016) Raymarine below-decks autopilot system w/ new controller in cockpit and older controller at Nav station, 2 switchable/redundant hydraulic pumps. • New (2017) Raymarine Smart Controller, wireless autopilot remote control. Can control the auto pilot from anywhere on the boat. • New (2015) Raymarine E95 Multi Function Display at nav station w/ charts for USA, Mexico, Central America, Caribbean & South America. Apple IPAD with waterproof cover and RAM Mount used in cockpit to repeat the chartplotters display via WiFi. • New (2017) Vesper AIS transceiver interfaced to chart plotter, also access via app on smart phone or tablet via WiFi • New (2016) Raymarine VHF marine radio with AIS receiver at the nav desk. • New (2017) ICOM M-802 Ham/SSB HF radio at the nav station w/ auto-tuner, new KISS counterpoise installed beneath aft berth & new leadin wire to the insulated backstay. • New (2015) Raymarine digital 48 mile radar mounted on radar arch and connected to chart plotter. Can be viewed at Nav station and on tablets. • New (2015) Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo system w/ built-in speakers for salon & aft stateroom. • New (2015) WiFi antenna mounted on radar arch. • New (2017) /Satphone antenna mounted on the radar arch. ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS AND EQUIPMENT • New (2014) SidePower bow thruster with control at helm and two dedicated batteries in bow locker. Installed by CSR marine in Seattle WA • 110V AC & 12V DC systems w/ main distribution panel in the passage just aft of the companionway & new auxiliary 12V distribution panel at the nav station. • Main panel rewired w/ buss bars for field wiring & Ancor #10 AWG wiring to breakers. All wires numbered & coded, and all terminations are Ancor heat-shrinked ring terminals. • Negative & positive bus bar terminals for all large wiring serving batteries, alternators, water-maker, windlass, etc. • Switches & wiring permitting operating either house or engine alternators as back-up chargers for each system. • (8) New (1/2018) 6V Lifeline AGM house batteries (790 amp hours total at 12V); (2) maintenance-free engine cranking batteries (2015) in very good condition. • New (2016) Zantrax 3000 watt inverter w/150 amp charger and remote control panel. • 30A shore power system w/ connector & 30A cord. • New ( 5/2017) solar panels above cockpit enclosure totaling 600 watts w/new solar controller. Two older panels on radar arch total 70 watts on separate controller. • Most lighting converted to LED throughout the boat. • Mechanical Systems: • New (12/2016) AquaMarine (Kabota) DC Generator (140 Amp), with 40 GPH watermaker • New (6/2018) carrier bearing (w/remote lube). • New (8/2015) PYI dripless shaft seal. • New (2017) 4 blade PYI MaxProp Easy bronze feathering prop. 24X18 RH. Pitch is adjustable in the water. • New (2017) Racor dual fuel filters for main engine. Spare filters. • New (2017) Racor fuel polisher system and fuel manifold.
