Watch: A Slow Sail in the Solent
Anyone free on these dates?
I have a 4 day trip coming up from the evening of Saturday 16th May to Wed 20th May. I haven't actually got a plan yet other than to leave Hamble Point Marina on the Sunday morning and return there on the Wednesday! The rest will largely be dictated by the weather but the aim will be to get as far as possible as long as we can make it back in time. At this stage I'm just putting the feelers out to see who is available.
The boat is a Hanse 415 with three cabins and is very comfortable.
In terms of your costs, I will cover the boat, fuel and gas. You will have to get yourself to Hamble Point Marina, share in food provisioning and marina fees if we visit other ports.
Drop me a message if you think you may be interested in this trip.

Crewed for a Michael for 5 days along the South Coast on a Hanse 415
Michael was friendly, welcoming and polite. He is a knowledgeable, experienced and very capable skipper, familiar with the Solent and surrounding coastline. Michael knew all about the boat, as well as local conditions and marinas, and he made us aware of all useful information. He put our safety first, keeping plans flexible, and did not push too far when it seemed unwise. Communication of duties and what was expected of us was made clearly and respectfully. I was very comfortable onboard, and never felt unsafe with him as skipper. Everybody chipped in and pulled their weight. We had a very pleasant time spotting landmarks when offshore, visiting local bars and restaurants when staying in marinas, and having a good chat about sailing or various topics of interest over a cup of tea in the evenings. I was able to learn a lot from Michael, who was very patient and generous, and I enjoyed our passage together very much.
