Watch: A Slow Sail in the Solent
September mile builder
I have a 6 day trip coming up from Saturday 12th September to Thursday 17th September.
The actual plan yet will largely be dictated by the weather (as always) but the aim will be to leave Hamble Point Marina on the Saturday, get as far as possible as long as we can make it back to The Hamble by the Thursday. This could be a cross Channel trip and may include night passage.
The boat is a Hanse 415 with three cabins and is very comfortable. A fuller description is in my bio.
In terms of your costs, I will cover the boat, fuel and gas. You will have to get yourself to Hamble Point Marina, share in food provisioning and marina fees if we visit other ports.
Sorry but this is not a trip for beginners so the absolute minimum requirement is Competent Crew. Drop me a message if you think you may be interested.

Crewed for a Michael for 5 days along the South Coast on a Hanse 415
Michael was friendly, welcoming and polite. He is a knowledgeable, experienced and very capable skipper, familiar with the Solent and surrounding coastline. Michael knew all about the boat, as well as local conditions and marinas, and he made us aware of all useful information. He put our safety first, keeping plans flexible, and did not push too far when it seemed unwise. Communication of duties and what was expected of us was made clearly and respectfully. I was very comfortable onboard, and never felt unsafe with him as skipper. Everybody chipped in and pulled their weight. We had a very pleasant time spotting landmarks when offshore, visiting local bars and restaurants when staying in marinas, and having a good chat about sailing or various topics of interest over a cup of tea in the evenings. I was able to learn a lot from Michael, who was very patient and generous, and I enjoyed our passage together very much.
