Deckhand and Sailmaker looking for opportunities to gain more experience
I am currently looking for work as a deckhand anytime from July 6th to September 3rd (possibly longer depending upon the situation) and I'm open to any location.
I spent the spring as a deckhand on a commercial fishing vessel off the coast of Washington, and before that the last 10 years as a professional Sailmaker designing, building, and repairing sails on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington. My time as a Sailmaker was filled with many hours of sailing with customers in the role of a deckhand and consultant. I love being on the water be it sailing, motoring, at anchor, or drifting and know that it's where my future is.
I am shifting gears career wise and very eager to expand upon my deckhand skills while gaining the experience and time to work my way up to Captain down the road. I am very hardworking, efficient, honest, trustworthy, fun and positive. I have a great attitude and welcome constructive criticism knowing the opportunity it provides to learn and grow.
