Hi there! I’m Chiaki from Japan, currently living in Auckland, New Zealand.
I'm passionate about slow travel, connecting with locals, and learning new ways of life.
I’m a friendly, reliable, and easygoing person who enjoys cooking, hiking, books, movies, playing ukulele and meaningful conversations. I’m not an experienced sailor yet, but I’m eager to learn and happy to help with daily tasks on board—cleaning, cooking, watch duties, or whatever you need.
In the past, I worked as a scuba diver ( not an instructor but an assistant) in Japan, which gave me a deep appreciation for the ocean and marine life. I've traveled to nearly 30 countries, always seeking authentic experiences and cultural exchange. One of my most inspiring journeys was a solo trip to Tahiti for new year in 2024/25, where I met many sailors and fell in love with the idea of sailing and life at sea. That experience sparked my dream to learn how to sail and eventually embark on a long journey across countries.
I’m especially interested in meeting people who enjoy the ocean, live freely, and have inspiring stories to share. For now, I’d love to join as a volunteer crew and assist while experiencing life at sea.
