Looking for a Mile building or Delivery Crew position
I'm hoping to one day own my own cruising yacht and possibly complete the Yachtmaster, so really I'm looking to gain experience and advise from experienced skippers whilst clocking up some sea miles.
As a maintenance technician I'm also interested in the technical side of boats, and am trying to improve my knowledge alongside the seamanship skills.
Being an adventurous type I dipped my toes in sailing a few times when I was younger in NZ, Australia and UK. But, ironically, it has been the land-locked country of Switzerland that gave me the opportunity to really start sailing. For the last 3 years I've been sailing very regularly on the Swiss lakes on a wide range of boats (including my own). From that the obsession has grown and for the last 18 months I have taken every chance to get to the coast/seas of Europe:
- Courses (day skippers - motor and sail, and coastal skipper sail)
- Charters, as skipper (Croatia x 3, Spain, Holland)
- Crewing (English Channel/Channel Islands and French Atlantic coast)
