Looking for a Novice Crew or Mechanic/Deckhand position
Hi - I've just joined Crewbay. I'm interested in finding a position as a Novice Crew or Mechanic/Deckhand. I'm looking forward to meeting some new people!

I have never sailed but have spent some time on fishing boats and consider myself to have good legs. I regularly watch sailing videos and would love to own my own boat one day but having never been on one i cant say how i could justify buying a boat without knowing a thing or two first. Im a trained mechanical engineer, all be it for construction equipment but still could be useful in the right situation, experienced in engines, hydraulics and basic electronics, Currently working in the construction industry as a self employed operative, in the green valleys of south wales. Im a family man with a wife, two teenage daughters and our three dogs, so as you can imagine a week of twos crossing or cruising is out of the question for me at the moment, id be looking for a days sail or a weekend at most, possibly get the wife to tag along if i could talk her in to it during the warmer months.
I appreciate you taking the time to read the above and hope to talk further about the possibility of taking the first steps to join your boat crew.
