From Being Afraid of the Sea to Falling in Love With It ?⛵
Hi!
I'm Marcella, a Brazilian girl who grew up in a small town far from the ocean, but who has always loved the beach and the sea. Funny enough, I was also terrified of it! ? I couldn't even go snorkelling because I was so afraid of the water.
Somewhere along the way, I kind of learned how to swim… or, as I like to say, how not to drown! Hahaha.
Then I started travelling, and my relationship with the sea completely changed. In Phi Phi, Thailand, I started working on tour boats, and that's where I truly fell in love with the ocean. I finally learned how to swim properly, discovered snorkelling and freediving, and eventually took my Open Water scuba diving course. I haven't finished my diving journey yet, and I definitely want to continue!
The more time I spent at sea, the more I realised how much I love this world. Something that once scared me became something I wanted to explore more and more.
Now, I'd love to take the next step and discover the world of sailing. I have no sailing experience yet, but I'm genuinely excited to learn, help out, get my hands dirty, and understand what life on a boat is really like.
For me, travelling has never been just about visiting places or ticking destinations off a list. My whole life has been shaped by experiences, people, stories, and memories — the kind you carry with you forever. Some of my favourite moments have come from saying yes to something completely new, stepping outside my comfort zone, and discovering a part of myself I didn't know existed.
That's exactly what I'm looking for in this experience. Not just a free trip, but the opportunity to learn something new, share life with a crew, discover places from a different perspective, and create one of those unforgettable memories I'll be telling stories about for years.
I'm happy to help with everyday tasks on board, cleaning, cooking, social media, photography, or whatever else might be useful. I also have experience working in hospitality, tourism, and with people from all over the world.
I'm sociable, curious, adaptable, and always up for a new adventure. I might be a beginner when it comes to sailing, but I'm eager to learn and ready to contribute.
