Young social worker looking to sail the world
Hi there!
I’m Toine, a 24 year old social worker from the beautiful city of Maastricht, the Netherlands. After the summer, the community project I’ve set up will come to an end, and I’m taking the opportunity to travel the world using the money I’ve saved up.
I’ve lived in several countries, including Brunei and Oman, and I’m no stranger to different cultures and ways of life. I love meeting people from all walks of life, adapting to new situations, and going on real adventures.
My hobbies mostly include being outdoors: camping, fishing, and gardening. I really enjoy working out and being a social person. I like having a drink with people and going out every now and then.
Although I’m completely new to sailing, I’m committed to learning. This summer I’ll be doing a one-week sailing course to gain basic skills and become a more reliable and helpful crew member onboard.
People often say I’m a quick learner, calm under pressure, and able to laugh at my own despair. I’m physically fit, positive, and happy to contribute wherever needed — whether that’s on deck, in the galley, or during night watches.
I’m eager to learn as much as I can while having fun along the way. I’m open to trips anywhere in the world and will be available from October onwards.
Looking forward to joining a great crew!
Toine
