Looking for boat - Martinique to Grenadines / Just crossed over from Capo Verde
Hi, I'm Kat, 36y old, originally from Berlin/Germany.
I quit my job as Senior Event Manager in June 2022 and been traveling since all over the world, with my campervan, with my backpack, hitchhiking, sailing.
I worked seasonal jobs in surf camps in France, canoe guide in Germany and Sweden, farm work in Indo, did an intensive divemaster internship in Croatia (2025) and many other things.
I'm also an active Sea Shepherd crew, joined their anti whaling campaign in the Faroer Islands last spring, being a deckhand for one of their ship refits for 1,5 months.
Grinding - painting - scrubbing - you name it, I'm happy to do it! And knots!
Besides that I like books over e-reader, nature over night clubs, any kind of movement (excl. conspiracy and right ones...).
The Big Blue is my biggest passion hence why I try to explore and discover it in every possible way - surfing / (free) diving (I'm a divemaster) / swimming / sailing...
I'm non-smoker - fit & strong - don't get seasick - quick learner - stand watches - read weather charts..
When on land I live in my campervan so I'm very used to tiny spaces, moving things, limited resources, can adapt easily to any kind of environment.
I'm vegetarian. This unfortunately has been an exclusion criterion for a few captains in the past as there seems to be the misconception having a vegetarian on board is causing more stress in the galley.. I can guarantee it will not when I'm on board! I don't ask for different food etc. but will eat whatever is there, be it mainly sides then.
In real life I mostly live off potatos (being German ;-) ), bananas and peanut butter.
I've got my some decent experience - sailed through Moluccan Sea on a Wharram Catamaran for 1,5months, crossed the Atlantic on a Amel Sharki monohull in 20d (+ prep beforehand), steering with the emergency tiller for 1000NM as the steering failed.
I prefer old souly sail boats over shiny modern yachts!
I'm also interested in paid boat jobs. I don't yet hold any tickets but a ton of experience in different fields.
I'm looking for an adventure, good stories, new experiences, milebuilding - no romance!
For the love of the ocean <3
Kat

Sailing Sardinia
Katha joined me for a sailing trip in the south of Sardinia, and from day one she fit into life on board like she’d been doing it for years. She jumped right in, helped out wherever she could, and brought tons of positive energy to the crew. Between her fascinating stories, unstoppable good mood, and excitement for every moment at sea, she proved to be a true ocean lover in every sense. Looking forward to catching up again out in the Pacific! ?⛵️ Cheers Dominic
