Looking for a Voluntary work, Mile building, Delivery Crew or Racing crew position
I am a French and Spanish-speaking American sailor living in French Switzerland since 2014. Former D-qualified sailing trainer in the US Naval Academy's Offshore Training Squadron (OSTS). Former skipper of a Hunter 28.5 on the Chesapeake Bay. Currently RYA Yachtmaster (Coastal) working toward higher certificates and commercial endorsement, looking for any deliveries, passages, opportunities. Race on Lake Geneva on a French-built Surprise 25. Last season crewed a successful delivery of a Standfast 56 from Ibiza to Breskens, Netherlands, about 1900 nm including a Bay of Biscay crossing. I have a lot of experience with setting and maintaining watches, night sailing, provisioning, and keeping a crew well fed during passages. Regularly train with celestial navigation and would be able to navigate across an ocean using only a sextant, watch, nautical almanac, universal plotting sheets, plotting tools, and sight reduction tables (I can use 249, 229, or the the NAO tables).
