Looking for a Captain, Sailing instructor, Diver or Teacher position
I am a German sailor with over 40 years of sailing experience and approximately 15,000 nautical miles in cruising areas around the world.
My background combines practical seamanship, yacht deliveries, navigation, meteorology and extensive technical experience. During my professional work in a yacht yard, I have been involved in maintenance, repairs and technical work on more than 30 yachts.
Before working in education, I served as a military officer and air traffic controller, with additional professional training in navigation and meteorology. I subsequently spent many years teaching mathematics, physics, English and technical subjects.
I particularly enjoy sharing my knowledge and helping people become confident and independent aboard their own yachts. I believe that good seamanship is not simply about knowing what to do, but understanding why.
I am also an experienced diver with approximately 1,800 dives, including technical diving, underwater navigation and underwater photography.
I am calm, responsible, technically minded and comfortable working independently or as part of a crew. Safety, reliability and respectful cooperation are central to the way I work.
I am looking for paid skipper positions, yacht deliveries, private yacht management and owner-training opportunities worldwide, with a particular interest in the Caribbean, Indian Ocean and South Pacific.
I especially enjoy working with private yacht owners, helping them become familiar with their vessels, improve their sailing and manoeuvring skills, and develop the confidence to operate independently.
I am equally interested in longer cruising passages, yacht deliveries and assignments combining sailing with technical maintenance, passage planning and vessel preparation.
I would also welcome opportunities aboard yachts involved in diving, marine exploration or underwater photography.
My preferred environment is a privately operated sailing yacht with a professional, friendly atmosphere, where experience, responsibility and practical problem-solving are valued.
I am available for international assignments from February 2027 onwards. I hold German recreational sailing qualifications, including the SKS, and am open to discussing positions appropriate to my qualifications and experience.
