Experienced Skipper/Mate
Commercially endorsed RYA Yachtmaster Offshore with 11,000+ nautical miles logged, including 3,500 NM as skipper, and four seasons of professional sailing experience. Progressed from flotilla engineer to flotilla skipper before joining a 25m sailing yacht as Mate. Practical, proactive and hands-on, with experience across sailing operations, vessel maintenance, engineering, deck work, crew leadership and guest relations. Confident with boat handling under sail & power, sail trim, reefing, sail changes, navigation, anchoring and mooring, as well as mechanical, electrical and plumbing fault finding. Calm under pressure with a strong eye for detail and a team-first approach. Used to small crew dynamics where everyone helps each other out. Comfortable working aloft and with both manual and hydraulic sail systems. Strong hospitality background brings an additional focus on guest experience, service and presentation.
