Looking for a Novice Crew or Voluntary work position
Hi everyone!
My name is Léopold, I'm 29 years old and I'm from France. I'm looking for an opportunity to cross the Atlantic as a crew member, ideally departing in November or December 2026, heading towards the Caribbean or South America.
I've always been passionate about travelling, discovering new places and meeting people from different backgrounds. I've already spent several months backpacking across South America, and now I'm looking for a completely different kind of adventure: crossing an ocean by sailboat!
I co-founded Wings of the Ocean, a French environmental organisation dedicated to protecting the oceans and fighting marine pollution, which operates missions including aboard a three-masted sailing ship.
I was involved in the organisation for several years, during which I created and led an environmental mission along the French Mediterranean coast, managed teams of volunteers, organised activities and developed partnerships. I later became Head of Communications.
Although my experience with the organisation wasn't primarily focused on sailing, it gave me a strong connection to the marine environment, experience working in teams and a real appreciation for collective projects.
I'm not an experienced sailor, but I'm highly motivated to learn, take part in daily tasks, help with watches, cooking, cleaning and contribute to life on board.
I'm easy-going, adaptable, responsible and happy to get involved wherever needed. I'm also comfortable living with others and understand the importance of teamwork and mutual respect.
I'm flexible with departure dates and destinations, and I'm happy to contribute to shared expenses.
For me, this journey isn't just about reaching the other side of the Atlantic. It's about learning to sail, experiencing life at sea, sharing an adventure with a crew and enjoying the journey itself.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Fair winds,
Léopold
