Hello everyone!
My name is Estèphe, a 28-year-old Norman with a deep love for the sea, and I’m looking for a crew position to sail across the Atlantic and reach Brazil. I’ll be spending Christmas in the Canary Islands and can make my way to Cape Verde from December 27 onward. My intended destination is Belém, and I’ve been told that Jacaré is the ideal port of arrival (the shortest route).
I’ve been preparing for this crossing for two years now, sailing on ketches, catamarans, and other sailboats to learn, learn, learn how to be a good sailor while reveling in being out on the water! My Coastal License only gave me the basics…!
? My project
Although I plan to become a captain one day, my current goal is to discover the South American continent by traveling and working in Brazil for one year. I don’t have a fixed itinerary other than going up the Amazon River to Manaus and getting as close as possible to the Amazon rainforest. Once there, I’ll bring my documentary camera to shoot a film.

Childhood – I grew up facing the Chausey Archipelago and became captain of my catamaran at just 9 years old!
2025 – Le Séréna, owned by P. Rouff, a 13m wooden ketch that taught me sailing and made me fall in love with the ocean all over again. After one week of boatwork, I spent a month coastal sailing along the northern coast of Sicily and the island of Vulcano. Then on to the Greek islands of Ithaca, Kefalonia, and my first storm experience ⛈️
2026 – Le Vétéran, owned by E. Corbin, a 14m polyester ketch on which I discovered Atlantic and offshore navigation! After two weeks sailing around Lisbon, we headed for the Azores: a 7-day crossing to Ponta Delgada, then on to Horta.
2026 – Touka, owned by C. Brongnart, a 13x7m catamaran that brought me back to France from Horta during a 10-day sail to Lorient. A very fun crew and life onboard without any disasters! I learned to use the sextant ?
2026 – Etadel, skippered by Captain Y. Caro, a Dufour 450 that carried me for 3 days discovering the islands of Groix and Belle Île en mer… Should I settle in Brittany??
? In short
I feel fully capable of crossing the ocean, whether in terms of maneuvers, weather, psychological resilience (staying cheerful without touching land), or cooking. From night watches to cleaning duties, I know the right moves to keep the crew safe. I’m not the most experienced sailor in this group, and my choice to sail with several captains has mainly allowed me to learn different ways of doing things and to better understand the sea. That said, I’m a great crewmate with whom you’ll have a good laugh! Above all, I want to keep improving—and before anything else, to sail!
In brief, onboard we can talk about: cinema, theater, adventures, philosophy, knots, chocolate marble cake, photography, history, or geopolitics… I’m curious and eager for everything.
