I'm an easy-going, adventurous world traveller with a lifelong passion for the ocean, boats and exploring new places. I enjoy meeting people, experiencing different cultures and discovering what the world has to offer.
With over 45 years in the marine industry, I bring extensive international experience as a yacht builder, boat builder, shipwright, sailor, marine consultant and technical specialist.
My background covers the construction, refit and maintenance of a wide variety of vessels, working with timber, steel, aluminium, fibreglass, GRP, carbon fibre and advanced composites. My skills include new builds, structural repairs, restoration, engineering, carpentry, mechanical maintenance, project management and quality control to surveyor level.
I've built numerous yachts throughout my career, with two of my most significant projects being the construction of an 87-foot yacht and the major refit of the 68-metre MV Winston Churchill in Phuket.
My sailing experience extends well beyond Thailand. I've sailed in various parts of the world and undertaken yacht delivery work, gaining valuable offshore and practical seamanship experience. I've also spent more than 20 years operating boats around Thailand and the Andaman Sea, and speak Thai fluently.
I've been involved in some interesting marine projects, including post-tsunami relief work in Thailand, helping restore approximately 3,000 fishing boats following the devastating 2004 tsunami.
Alongside my marine skills, I'm a carpenter, practical all-rounder and capable chef. I'm happy contributing to all aspects of life aboard, including sailing, navigation, deck work, maintenance, sail training, provisioning and cooking.
I'm currently in Krabi, Thailand, and planning to continue travelling towards Vietnam. I'm available immediately for interesting opportunities, whether as sailing or delivery crew, technical crew, marine consultant, shipwright, yacht maintenance specialist or for boatbuilding and refit projects.
I'm easy-going, independent, adaptable and enjoy good company, new challenges and a bit of adventure. I love the freedom of travelling, meeting interesting people and being part of a good team.
