Working toward the liveaboard life
I grew up cruising the Hauraki Gulf and later the Marlborough Sounds in New Zealand on summer weekends and school holidays from about the age of 8. I've not spent much time on a boat in maybe 20 years but have always had a draw to the idea of cruising the world. I've decided to finally follow my dream, buy my own boat and sail off into the sunset so I want to get some real time aboard sailing, doing passages, and retraining my rusty self on how to sail.
I've recently completed my RYA Day Skipper's qualification & Advanced Sea Survival and am working on getting my VHF and HF/RT (MSROC and MRROC) radio licenses.
I'm semi-retired so able to travel pretty much at will with a week or two's notice.
