Experienced Ocean Crew | 5x Atlantic Crossings | Yacht Master 3
Seeking blue-water passages and ocean crossings (Atlantic, Pacific, worldwide) aboard well-maintained yachts. Available as a reliable watchkeeper, practical deckhand, and/or galley cook.
Ocean & Offshore Experience (30+ years):
5 Atlantic Crossings: 3x East-to-West and 2x West-to-East (first crossing in 1999 from Gran Canaria to Brazil; most recent from Gran Canaria to Martinique).
Pacific & Remote Waters: Expedition from the Solomon Islands through Micronesia to the Philippines; 2 months cruising French Polynesia.
SE Asia: Co-owned and skippered a 53 ft Jeanneau through Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.
Traditional Seamanship: 3 open-sea crossings of the North Sea aboard traditional Viking ship reconstructions.
Onboard Attitude:
Calm, mature, non-smoking, and drama-free. Solid sea legs in all conditions, focused night watches, and respectful of skipper and boat. In the galley, I keep stores organised, avoid food waste, and enjoy serving proper, hearty meals underway.
Qualifications & Background:
Danish Yacht Master 3rd Class (Y3) – certified skipper up to 24 meters.
Harbor Captain (Havnekaptajn): 5 summer seasons managing vessel traffic, berthing, and harbor safety at the island of Anholt, Denmark.
Practical Skills: Trained carpenter. Highly practical with onboard repairs, rigging, diesel checks, and systems. High endurance and adaptability (recently completed a 2-month solo overland motorcycle trip across 16 countries).
