Senior Deckhand on 32m Sailing Yacht
I am looking for a position as a senior deckhand or general deckhand on a sailing yacht with a crew of 2 - 6 for the winter season. I have three summer seasons of experience on three different gaff rigged yachts, ranging from 20 to 32 meters in length doing both public day trips and private charters. I'm currently interested in yachts that do longer private charters. I enjoy a fast paced work environment with opportunity to get to know guests and their preferences throughout the week.
In my current role I oversee a crew of two others as the senior-most deckhand, have trained five other sailors, lead customer service management onboard, and assist with basic boat maintenance like winch servicing. My background before I transitioned to larger sailing yachts is in college small boat racing and instructing. I am always looking to increase my knowledge on different sailing techniques, rigging, and engine maintenance. I thrive in team environments and would love to join a crew who is just as passionate about sailing as I am. Outside of sailing I enjoy working on cars, billiards, and Muay Thai. I have traveled over Europe and many parts of Asia, as well as being in the Peace Corps in Timor-Leste.
I am looking for a position which starts in November or December 2025. I will have my STCW, ENG 1, and IYT Powerboat certifications completed by October 2025.
