Looking for a Delivery Crew, 1st Mate, Mile building or Deckhand position
Commercially Endorsed Yachtmaster Coastal. I am 57 years old and have been sailing for about 9 years. I am very enthusiastic and have packed a lot in during this time. I have my own Bavaria cruiser. My sailing has been around British waters but also in the Aegean and Ionian, mainly as skipper but also as crew and watch leader. I have also completed a crossing of the Atlantic Ocean as watch leader in a crew of four. I have skippered numerous return trips across the English Channel to France, Channel Islands etc. I have passed my RYA Yachtmaster Coastal Certificate of Competence. All my training has been completed with the Met Police Sailing Club, which is a great place to learn to sail safely.
I am very sociable, friendly and easy to get on with. I like to have fun, but safety and doing the job properly is always my priority. I'm usually smiling even when under pressure... I can cook. I am a police officer by proffession and am used to making good decisions whilst under pressure. I am a qualified approved electrician and build vintage race cars in my spare time. So pulling an engine apart and repairing it would be a normal days fun for me! I do all the repairs and maintenance on my own yacht. I keep my boat spotless and enjoy sailing with people with the same approach. I am used to working as a team player and have always got on well when under the command of a skipper. Equally i am capable of decision making when needed or circumstances dictate. I am very interested in doing the ARC or ARC plus, or similar voyages. I am looking to join a nice friendly, safe and civilised boat.....
