Hi, I am Ben. Looking for a boat to cross the Atlantic.
My name is Ben, I am 29 years old and from Germany. I am planning to go to Colombia through the Carribean in October/Novermber of this year and to live there for a while and to start some sustainable developmental projects. I have been living there already and I always wanted to go on this journey over the ocean and not booking myself a flight. As biologist and nature lover, of course I love the ocean and would really love to experience its vastness from a boat.
Concerning my experience, I really have none in sailing. But I am a hard worker and I will finish any task that is given to me. I love to learn and sailing is something that I have been wanting to do for a long time now. I am currently doing a video course on the sailing basics (I know this will never make up for actual experience, but it is better than nothing I guess). I would say I am a decent cook and I can certainly do anything that involves heavy lifting or general repair. I am happy to do the watch or whatever is needed or asked of me.
As a person, I would describe myself as adventurous and outgoing. I love to explore and experience new things. I love to be challenged and to go out of my comfort zone. As I said I am biologist and very much interested in everything living. As I wanted to do something to conserve this beautiful world we live in, I studied "environmental and resource management" as master and want to put it to good use in latin america. I am easy going and I really get along with everyone. Sometimes I need some time to warm up with people, but being together on a small space like this will solve this problem rather fast.
If this sounds good to you, feel free to get back to me. I would be very pleased and honored to be part of your crew.
All the best,
Ben
