Looking to join someone's adventure as crew!
Hi, I'm Kara! I am looking to crew on an ocean passage in 2025.
I am an experienced sailor with 500+ miles under my belt and multiple offshore passages as skipper. I have worked on boats before in a professional capacity so I am very used to sharing tight spaces, putting my head down and doing what needs to be done, getting along with people, etc.
As far as my personality goes, I am a very chill person - I like to always stay positive and in a problem-solving attitude no matter how stressful the situation gets. I love meeting new people and I have lots of fun games to play on long passages when everyone is tired and conversation gets boring.
My goal is to gain ocean sailing experience because I intend to do an Atlantic crossing next year or the year after on my own boat as skipper. I would like to learn as much as possible on the trip and help out as much as I can. One of my main goals is to make good connections with other people who are interested in worldwide sailing! My qualifications so far are: - RYA Day Skipper - RYA Powerboat Lvl 2 - STCW Safety Training Course ( First Aid, Fire Fighting, Personal Survival Techniques, Security Awareness) - ENG1 Seafarers Medical In the next year, I am hoping to gain my Yachtmaster Offshore and then my Yachtmaster Ocean.
