RYA Coastal Skipper | Med–Canaries / Atlantic crossing
Hi, I’m Adrian, a Romanian sailor based in Tenerife, looking to join a westbound passage from November 2026 onwards: Mediterranean to the Canary Islands, or Canary Islands to the Caribbean. I’m interested in both deliveries and cruising passages, aboard monohulls or catamarans.
I hold the RYA Coastal Skipper practical qualification and have around 2,200 nautical miles of experience in Greece and the Canary Islands, both as crew and skipper. This includes short-handed sailing, night passages, tidal waters and challenging weather.
I’m practical, safety-conscious and comfortable getting involved in everyday life aboard: watches, sail handling, cooking, cleaning and maintenance. My hands-on experience includes diesel servicing, basic electrical work and boat repairs. I value good preparation, clear communication and a crew who look after one another.
I’m working towards Yachtmaster Offshore and need around 300 more tidal miles towards the sea-time requirements. Beyond the miles, I’m keen to gain longer offshore passage experience, learn from an experienced skipper and contribute as a dependable crew member. I can provide references from my sailing instructors.
I’m looking for an unpaid crew position and am happy to contribute to shared provisions, but I’m not seeking a commercial pay-to-sail berth.
