Looking for a 3rd Officer, 2nd Officer, 1st Officer or Deckhand position
Hi there,
I've just joined Crewbay and I'm actively looking for a position as a **Deckhand**, **3rd Officer**, **2nd Officer**, or **1st Officer**.
Last year, I obtained my **RYA Day Skipper certificate**, and I’m currently studying for the **RYA Yachtmaster**, which I aim to complete this fall. In order to finish my training and begin my professional career as a skipper, I’m in urgent need of sea miles.
While I’m still learning the ins and outs of the yachting industry, I’m highly motivated, eager to learn, and open to any opportunity. I’m flexible with location—jobs close to home (Belgium, the Netherlands, France, or Germany) are certainly welcome, but I’m also keen on gaining experience abroad for longer periods.
I previously studied nautical navigation for commercial shipping, and completed several internships at sea
(4 weeks on a thug boat, 2 weeks on a research vessel Sirius). I also spent five years in sailing scouts and worked as a sailing instructor at a summer sports camp for kids. A few years ago, my father and I restored a small sailing yacht, and we’ve since logged many hours sailing around the Netherlands, including multiple overnight trips where I’ve been honing my skills.
Although I have no professional experience working for a yacht charter company yet, I’d be happy to start in a supporting role, ideally on the navigation side. My long-term goal is to become a Captain.
I'm passionate about sailing, and turning this into a career would truly be a dream come true.
