Captain - Temporary / Seasonal - $1000 - Portugal

I have bought a boat in Greece recently that I am working towards getting to Denmark at some point. :) It is currently on land in Lisbon, Portugal over the winter, also getting some maintenance done.
I am now looking for someone with experience to take part in the journey, for example for for mile-gaining. You will be responsible for the delivery, including navigation, arranging watches, safety onboard, reporting to me, the boat in general, and the voluntary crew.
All expenses and travel will be paid. A salary of 1000€ will be paid upon delivery.
Expected departure is beginning of March.
I expect someone with experience, possibly something like RYA Coastal skipper. It will be 24/7 sailing in shifts when weather windows allow, so I hope to have 3-4 people on board most of the time, 1 captain and 2-3 crew. Probably it will be no pleasure cruise as that stretch of Europe is rough, with the Biscay and the English Channel.
The boat is an old 1983 steel bermuda rigged sloop. Hul in good condition. It's 40 foot, 1,9 meter draft, 3,47m beam. It has a tiller rudder, which is unusual for this size boat. It has an old plotter with charts over the Med, and another newer one with basic Navionics gold charts of rest of Europe. There are new paper charts of all the route. It has autopilot on the tiller.
The engine is a 2009 Vetus m4.17 diesel 42 hp, runs great. Tank is 200 liter.
There is an inflatable dinghy with a suzuki 2,5 hp tiller. Lots of tools and spare parts on board.
300 Ah battery pack + 75Ah for the start + 60Ah for the anchor winch. Solar 30+50W, Wind 300W at 12,5m/s. 500 liter water. 70 liter holding tank that you do not want to overfill.
Rigging is old but should be fine. Running rigging is approximately 5-7 years old. Sails are old but without issues.
There is insurance on the boat which will cover you too.
There are inflatable life vests on board w extra co2 canisters.
There are serviced liferaft, EPIRB, VHF, AIS, flares, fire extinghishers.

Novice crew onboard Fatuhiva

One month sailing Fatuhiva as a novice crew member. Jeppe has been nicely coordinating the boat transfer remotely from Denmark as we sailed with an experienced skipper and motivated crew members. He was particularly attentive to our experience and our safety onboard. We cruised from Greece to Spain passing by Sicilia and Sardaigne on the way. The boat stood strongely even if some maintenance was required on the way. It can confortable fit 3-4 on long crossing and I would certainly recommend anybody such experience and great company!

I am thrilled to report that the vessel transfer from Greece to Portugal was a success, and that everyone onboard displayed exceptional kindness and professionalism throughout the journey. With my all respect, Mr. Jeppe, a skilled sailor with a deep respect for maritime traditions, stood out as a remarkable owner and colleague. Working alongside Mr. Jeppe was an absolute pleasure, as his extensive knowledge of the sea and commitment to safety made for a seamless and enjoyable journey. I have no hesitation in saying that I would be honored to work with him again in the future. Overall, the transfer was a wonderful experience, thanks in large part to the exceptional team onboard, and especially to Mr. Jeppe's ownership. I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of this successful endeavor and look forward to future opportunities to work with such exceptional individuals.

A beautiful month on Fatuhiva

I sailed from Palermo (Sicily) to Lisbon (Portugal) as novice crew onboard this beautiful boat. It was an amazing experience and the ship is very comfortable. The size and the weight makes her a real ocean crosser, and a great learning ground for anybody looking to gain experience or have an adventure. It was a fun and exciting experience and I'm sorry I can't be there for the next part of the trip. Thanks again Jeppe for having me onboard!
