Looking for a paid crew position
Hi - I'm a 43 year old guy. Born and raised in Denmark, but with ample travel experience in Europe, Africa and the Carribean. I have lived 6 years in France, 1 year in Portugal and 15 years in Italy.
My family had a Wayfarer when I was a young, but I have only started sailing for real lately.
In November of 2022 I had a position as paying crew on a very extensive yacht delivery in the Medditeranean/Atlantic from Palermo (Italy) to Lisbon (Portugal). It took a month given the bad weather conditions so late in the season and we covered 1300 nautical miles almost entirely upwind.
Since May of 2023, and still ongoing, I have been the skipper on a co-owned 38 foot sailing yacht, cruising in the Caribbean. The trip has included St. Lucia, Martinique, Dominica, Guadeloupe, Montserrat, The Grenadines, Carriacou, Aruba and Jamaica. I have covered almost 2000 nautical miles in this period and done several long passage of 3 days or more, including naturally night sailing.
We have almost always been at anchor, so I have good experience in finding good and safe holding. I have been planning all the various stages, so I have experience in navigation, weather and planning.
I am very good with languages. I am sociable and I have a positive attitude, usually always smile, I take assignments seriously, I love the sea and to snorkel and freedive, I like to cook, I love hiking and I am fit. I have a Masters Degree that includes both biology and geology, which are two big interests of mine. I have also worked a a freelance photographer for several years.
I am looking for a paid position as crew on a sailing yacht or crew for yacht delivery. I don't have any official certifications, but I think that I have a very decent track record as a sailor and that in the role of skipper I have done well to insure security and comfort of both the crew and the yacht. I am very polite and have many years of experience in customer relations (shop assistant, waiter, booking agent, customer service agent, self employed photographer). I am also a quick learner and have no problem being independent when that is needed. Moreover, I think that I can say that I don't have a record of disappointing when things get though.

Great optimistic guy willing to learn
Nickolaj sailed with Fatuhiva from Palermo to Lisbon and really made a good impression on the rest of the crew. Easy-going, likeable and able to learn, I wish he was still onboard. :)
