Sailing Spain to Crete in April/May and Boat Sitting in Crete in June.

I grew up by the sea in a small place in Northern Norway where there was no roads, so wherever we want to go, it had to be by boat. My work has been related to boats and the sea for all my life, and I have traveled thousands of nautical miles.

I have a master degree in physics, an electrical engineer and also holder of a Deck officer Class 5 certificate for pleasure Craft world wide. Now I have retired and start sailing, maybe for a circumnavigation. I have no fixed schedule or plan for the longer run, just enjoying life.

I have owned several smaller boats and three years ago I bought me a Leopard 40 catamaran and have so far logged more than 6000 nm on it. I have sailed Snowbird around the Baltic sea and some costal sailing in Sweden-Denmark. Last summer I spent four months sailing from Norway to Almerimar, Spain, before going back for the winter.

Now i have returned to my boat and started sailing towards Crete, a distance of about 1500nm. When writing this I'm on my first overnight passage from Menorca to Sardinia. There will be one more from Sardinia to Sicilia and a longer 3-4 day 450nm sail form Malta to Crete. The plan is to be there in beginning of June. This will be a good opportunity for someone who want some mile building.
Please take a look on the planned route in my pictures.

In June I will leave my boat in Crete and go back to Norway for 3-4 weeks, and then it will be an opportunity for a boat sitter. I will return in end of June and start exploring the Greek Islans and Aegean Sea in July.

I have sailed mostly alone, but now I'm looking for someone to join me, mainly for the long and overnight crossings. You can join the boat where you want, that we can agree about.
Lack of experience is not a big issue, everyonehas to start somewhere and I will teach you everything you want to know. :)

There also may be an opportunities to join me for a longer period.., If we get along well and you have the opportunity.
Maybe you want to sail the Greek Islands. :)
Write me a message, ask any questions, tell me where and when you want to join.
I expect no financial contributions except your food.

I had some crew joining me before and can provide their feedback. :)

An amazing journey.

I joined Andor in Malta, and from the moment I stepped foot on Snowbird, I felt very welcome. Snowbird is beautiful, sturdy, elegant, clean, and very comfortable in all aspects. Andor has everything you need onboard.  with full home comforts available. Andor is a knowledgeable captain, very calm, and collected in all situations that we faced. During our planned 4-day crossing from Malta to Crete, we had an incident onboard that was unsettling. Andor was amazingly calm, gathered, and authoritative, helping an otherwise dangerous situation remain controlled. Our destination changed to Pylos, Greece. Once in Greece, we enjoyed sailing and exploring amazing anchorages and beautiful bays.  Andor is a gentleman, intelligent, informative, and has a great sense of humour. Thank you, Andor and Snowbird, for a truly amazing 14 days.

Great experience

I had sail from Aguadulce to Ibiza with Andor, it was a pity I couldn't stay longer as I really enjoyed it. Andor is a great sailor, I could had the experience of learning many skills from him. He also taught me how to sail with the sextant !! And many interesting operations to sail without a map. We struggled installing the spinnaker and he was very patient and calm. The boat is very confortable, I had never sail a catamaran and I found it very stable. It was a wavy navigation and the boat hardly moves. I had my own hull and bathroom, the boat was clean and tidy. I am glad I could have the experience.

Great skipper

Andor is a very good skipper. He puts the safety of the crew over everything and was very patient with a newbie like me. I learned a lot crossing the Baltic Sea with him.
