Crew to Help out on a Jenneau 49i
Leaving Mackay for Percys for a week early July.
Back to Mackay to restock then onwards to Towsville, Cairns. Welcome to stay aboard for the stops etc.
Seperate cabin, heaps of space, friendly skipper, Will depend on weather however this time of the year should be a pleasant sail.
Please contact me if interested. Then a stay in Towsille and further to Cairns afterwards. Stay for the whole trip or you can depart at Townsville if required.
Hi. Im a competent sailer and can handle my Jenneau 49i solo, however sometimes handy to have someone else onboard. Currently at Hamilton Island. Plan at the moment is to explore the Whitsundays over the Southerly Months (winter) with a likely cruise down to Sydney or Tasmania once the Northerlies begin. Possibly looking at future yachts along the way and a lot of island and marina hoping along the way.
Looking for easy going crew members. Some sailing experience needed like mainsheet, headsail, winding winches but nothing serious, but a willingness to learn is key as well as a positive personality profile.
Cleanliness is my key. So a yacht is always some confined quarters and can lead to plate breaking etc. So having general cleanliness skills like washing up after ones self, putting things away into functional areas is key.
Diving skills would be great.
Planning future passages so an into is always good
Best thing is to join for a leg and see how it suits for all involved.
Left me alone and ghosted me
Peter was the only person I texted on crewbay and, to my surprise, he said I could join him on his boat for 2 weeks. I was in Sydney that moment so I wanted to call him at least once before I booked a flight to make sure everything is legit. We spoke on the phone a few times and everything seemed alright. He also gave me regular weather updates on Whatsapp. Directly before my flight to Mackay I texted Peter and asked where I should meet him (He knew about time and date of the flight before though). When I landed I didn't receive an answer even though he read my message and I couldn't reach him on his number. Luckily a woman from the airplane let me sleep at her farm. The next morning he had texted me on crewbay, claiming that his phone wasn't charging (he could have texted me the day before in crewbay from his laptop since he knew that I would come). The woman from the farm drove me to the Marina where I found Peter's boat and waited for him. I had told Peter before in the phone that some of my friends would be in Airlie Beach, because he said we would go there anyways. When I met him he asked me when exactly they are gonna be there and I said tomorrow. He suggested that I take the bus to Airlie and spend some time with my friends. He could pick me up 2-3 days later. Two days later I tried calling him and texted him messages both of which he wouldn't respond to. I waited for 3 more days in Airlie but he just ghosted me. Initially I thought something might have happened but now that he changed the description of his post and he's officially in "Hamilton Island" I know it was on purpose! Be warned and don't try to sail with him when you don't want the same thing happening to you. Ghosting someone after he flew all the way up from Sydney is something someone might have done with 14 but certainly not with 46.
