Help me bring my boat from DR to Georgia
Hello
I have a 47 ft Northwind, a Spanish built boat from 1986. The boat is outfitted with new RayMarine electronics, Starlink for internet, and a watermaker, making for a comfortable live aboard life.
I need a mate to help me bring the boat from Samana, Dominican. Republic to Brunswick, Georgia. Ideally, someone who could join for the whole trip would be great, but I am open to sailors who want to join up to until the Bahamas, or Florida. You will have a private room here in the DR while waiting for a good weather window. I am open to pay for flights to the DR and your return flight home or onword destination, depending on location and cost of ticket. Id like to be ready from June 7th.
I have a 200 ton masters license. Im familiar with the route back from to the states. I normally sail with my partner, but she is not available, so I need someone to help with watches, and the tasks that are much easier with two people, raising the sail and anchoring. A competent crew certification is not necessary, but I am looking for someone with some familiarity with sailing and prior experience. I am a very competent diesel mechanic, the boat is well maintained and equipped with spares. I build homes when I’m not sailing, so am generally very handy. I am an avid fisherman and usually have lines out while while under sail.
The boat is already well provisioned for the journey, you will have a chance to get personal provisions while here before the trip.
