Pacific crossing from Marquesas Islands to Hawaï

During 2026 BalthazaR (Exploration 45 - Garcia) is going to sail from the French Polynesia to Canada.
This advert deals with the first part of the trip from Hiva Oa (very early April 2026 -Marquesas Islands) to Honolulu (first days of May 2026 - Hawaï).
We will have the opportunity to visit the Marquesas Islands and the South Hawaiian archipelago. In between we will have an intertropical crossing for about 2 weeks.
BalthazaR has the reputation of a very good ambiance on board and is well known for it's good cooking.
I am looking for a competent crew having at minimum sailed for 5 000 NM with high sea experience; the crew must be able to keep the night watches alone and to participate to the full life of the board: all maneuvers, cooking, cleaning, little maintenance .
I am looking for non-smoking and reasonable drinking crew.
The participation to the cruising expenses is 25€ per day.

  • Boat descriptionThe vessel is an Exploration 45 built in 2014 at Garcia shipyard. She was built for Jimmy Cornell; she already went through the North-West passage and also from Svalbard to the limit of the Arctic ice pack up to 80° North. She sailed to Antarctica and the Patagonian canals in 2024. In 2025 we crossed the South Pacific and visited the French Polynésia. 2026 will be dedicated to a long crossing from the Marquesas Islands to Canada with a call at Hawaii. She is very comfortable, highly equipped in terms of security and communication. I took the boat back to Garcia shipyard for a partial refit (2019); we had then a huge sailing tour in North Europe and then down to Marseilles; afterwards, during the Covid period, the boat being very close to my home, I went through a very detailed preparation for a 5 years around the world cruise. At the end of 2022 she was fully ready for new adventures. Balthazar is constantly kept at the highest level of safety and efficiency. NB: French and English usually spoken on board.

Antarctic 2024

I crewed on Balthazar for her 2024 Antarctic voyage and we met again in 2025. In total I crewed more than ten weeks on Balthazar and only can recommand her and her captain. Several people that crewed her did it more than once.
