I am a lone, liveaboard Skipper with a lifetime of sailing experience. 40,000+ Sea miles and RYA Yachtmaster.

I winter the boat in Tunisia and will shortly be headed to Malta with a crew mate who sailed with me last Summer for 3 weeks. He is leaving the boat on the 28th May.

My plan this season is to head up to Malta from Tunisia. When I have a crew mate or 2, I will spend the Summer and Autumn exploring the Ionian & Adriatic seas.
So after Malta, It will be Sicilly and then the Italian East Coast, zigzagging across to Greece, Corfu, Montenegro, Albania and Croatia and then heading back down to Tunisia for Winter.

Applicants must have experience and competent crew is necessary and recent sailing experience. No less than a 5 year gap without sailing as I have had crew that hadn't sailed for 20 years and it was almost disastrous.
Quick and agile boat handling skills are very important with Med mooring and marinas in general. It's important that crew listen and follow precise instructions as docking procedures can change in a split second so candidates will need to have quick reactions to prevent damage to my vessel or others in close proximity.

I am very easy going and friendly. I prefer company to sailing single handed so I am very happy to share my knowledge and experience. I am a retired college lecturer so I enjoy teaching and have plenty of patience.

With careful planning, we can sail in these waters for the whole season, without running out of EU/Schengen days (EU residents, it doesn't matter. )
Any sailor that would like to join the boat for a longer stint would be most welcome to apply but that should not deter applicants who only have weeks to spare.

Expenses (Food & drink, fuel and marina fees) to be spilt equally. Crew pay for thier own flights but there is no daily charge for being aboard or the sailing itself. Cooking and cleaning up is shared on a rotation.

Whatever we do or wherever... It's about the love of sailing and the sea life but saftey is paramount.

Jackstays & Clip on leads & cockpit clip on points Raymarine Chartplotter/MFD above Helm Wheel and can be mounted at the chart table Raymarine EV1 motor driven Autopilot with P70s Head Brand new Garmin Wind sensor and GNX instrument display & through hull Airmar Smart Triducer for depth, and water speed, pitch, roll &leeway angle. This is networked to a Garmin GNX20 MFD next to the Wind instrument on the cockpit coming. Navtex Speed and distance repeater log display at chart table VHF-DSC Radio and AIS unit at chart table. I have 2 hand held battery powered VHF radios as backups. The 2 & 3 year old sails have just been valeted, serviced and treated. I am also replacing all the running rigging that is in constant use under sail. Brand new 4/5 man Tender with fully reconditioned 6HP outboard engine. Large refrigerator, microwave, stereo, 12 volt TV. 300ah LifePO4 Smart Battery for all boat systems and lighting. Engine starter battery. Windlass battery. Solar Panels and AC Inverter. All Victron equipment for handling mains charging & Solar power management. The yacht is now in Tunisia after 3000 Nm of sailing from Southampton UK via Galicia, Portugal, to Gibraltar and then up the Eastern coast of Spain, through the Balierics and across to Sardinia. Finally, after cruising around the island for 2 weeks, I headed South to Tunisia and worked my way down to the Mid East Coast. The yacht is in a marina close to Enfida airport where the majority of Budget airlines fly to from all over Europe, N Africa and the Middle East.

Competent and safe skipper. Well kept yacht.

Went on a lovley and lively day sail on the solent with Richy.I find him to be a competent skipper with attention to safety and knows his boat well. he is also quite a tidy skipper (to my liking) and always keeps the cockpit clutter free. The boat sails well and has all the safety equipment. It is very well maintained and looked after, really clean on the inside too. I would recommend sailing with him, and look forward to do so myself.
